THE NAVIGATION EXPERT
How Sweden was deceived by U 137
Ola Tunander visits Sweden and Tåp Studio for a talk centered around the Soviet submarine S-363 that went on the surface inside Swedish waters and ran aground on 27 October 1981 outside the Swedish Naval Base South in Karlskrona. In Sweden this submarine was called U137, while in the English-speaking world it was named "Whiskey on the Rocks". Tunander will also bring up the following Swedish anti-submarine operations during the 1980s.
The year after U137, in 1982 during the Hårsfjärden incident, the Swedish Navy laid a trap for, pursued, and attempted to sink a foreign submarine that had violated Swedish territorial waters. The hunt for submarines in Swedish waters continued long after these incidents, but the true story concerning these events has never been revealed to the larger public.
In Ola's book Navigationsexperten, The Navigation Expert, from 2021, he lays out a totally different story than the one we have been fed via our mainstream media outlets. From the book publisher Karneval's description of The Navigation Expert:
"Three government investigations and many books and articles have been published about U 137, but without being able to clarify the central questions surrounding the grounding.
Was it a deliberate intrusion for military purposes by the Soviet Union? Was it a navigation error?
Neither, says Ola Tunander (...)"
